Jo Koy is the absolute sweetest!

His shows are great and he really takes the time to make sure his shows can relate to his audience. Always gets audience participation and does not care if he goes over time. He really wants you to make sure you get your money's worth. We were able to get Meet & Greet passes for after the show, which I did not know was possible. Jo Koy is genuinely the sweetest ever. Still starstruck that I was able to talk to him and tell him thank you. When he comes back to Hawaii, you bet that I will go to another show!

When he told jokes they were hilarious!

There was a lot of ‘ranting’ to waste time between the funny parts. When he was funny it was exceptional. I do not like that he is not allowed to use his mothers accent as the directors put that in their notes. What a disgrace! That’s a huge part of his acts too! That was a letdown. The meet and greet was nice. Quick. Not much time to say 1-2 minutes of anything to Mr. Koy. He seemed to not really want to be “bothered” with his fans during that time. He was in a hurry. Other than that if those things could be tweaked I’d go see him again and refer all of my friends to do so as well.

Rants should be funny

I had only previously seen Jo Koy from FB reels and found them hilarious! I shared them with my daughter and she loved them too. We booked tickets as soon as they became available. Well, instead of what we saw on the FB reels, Jo Koy spent most of the time with his self professed "Ted talk" on discrimination (especially from Netflix). It wasn't funny, it had a serious tone ,and wasn't the only thing he griped about. He even said, " if you expected to see me do the stuff i did on Netflix, you could've stayed home! You already know the punchline!" Well, Jo Koy, we go to concerts and expect to hear the same songs we love and we know all those words too! The concert is an experience, as is a live comedy show. Instead, when he wasn't ranting, he spent a lot of time being extremely raunchy, talking about masturbation, etc. It made the experience uncomfortable for my daughter and I. This was not what we were expecting. Maybe he brings his A-game when he performs at Madison Square Garden, or other large venue, but in Reading PA, he took the opportunity to vent about his hurt feelings and tell us how hard it is to do comedy? Hmmm, maybe time to retire? So perhaps I'll watch his Netflix special, for free, but I won't spend another nickel on a Jo Koy live show. I did give it one extra star (2 stars total) just because he closed the show with an actual funny routine, representative of the type of comedy I had previously seen online. I thought that was finally a turning point in the show, and we were finally laughing - then the show ended.

Great experience! 1st timer at The Taft

We came for Jo Koy and we were so excited to be there! Not only because Jo is one of our all time faves but because it was also going to be our first experience at The Taft! We have seen Jo Koy 4 times with the 4th being here. It was everything we had hoped it would be! Super nostalgic and comforting, the atmosphere was inviting and friendly, the staff were super helpful and considerate. The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced for such an event. The entry was pleasant and the security team was wonderful and kind, also very helpful. I had to inquire about concession prior to the event to make sure I was prepared, so I reached out on FB. Someone replied to me with in the hour and was for tentative and helpful to my questions and needs. Overall we will for sure come back to this venue and look forward to many more wonderful years with The Taft! Thank you again so very much!!

Fun night but lots of room to improve

The first comedian that came on was pretty funny. I enjoyed him. Was not a fan of Tiffany's performance. I felt it was just a complaining session about her DUI. For the main event, Jo Koy, I thought he came out really strong and was laughing histerically. Then there was the speaker issue which I thought was pretty insane to experience in a venue like this. In addition, how was this problem not discovered and fixed in the first hour with the first 2 acts? Disappointing that the main event had to have a break because of this technical issue that should had been resolved. I think Jo recovered nicely and picked up where he left off. I did think in regards to his performance, there was about 20 minutes in there where his jokes just got really vulgar and graphic, and I personally did not find them funny. I am fine with a little vulgar, but I personally feel this was over the edge, and the fact he stayed on it for so long was disappointing. Having seen him perform a couple times, I expected a little more from this performance, however overall, it was still a fun night. I just had slightly higher expectations.
